emotional, to say the least

Last night I sent an email to a friend I knew in high school. He had a husband who passed away and has been having a rough time. His late husband was being a persistent person and wouldn't let me ignore him so I bit the bullet and emailed. I was SO nervous because I hadn't talked to this person in over twenty years and then to send an email that said his husband who has been gone for almost a year and a half was trying to get in touch with him? HOW crazy is that? I did it though and LATE last night he contacted me and asked me to call him. I was SO nervous I was shaking but I KNEW this was something that I had to do.

I asked him to just talk so I could see if I could "get" anything. I kept getting a picture and I finally told him what the picture was like and he said it was his husband. We talked for 3 1/2hrs. He was able to communicate and talk with his late husband and a few things were sorted out for him. Some questions he needed answered were answered, some were not. He wrote many things down so he could go back over them and just be able to maybe validate them later but he feels better now. He says this: "is incredibly amazed. There is a calm wave that ripples through my being tonight." To know that I was able to help him to be in this state is more than I can put into words. It's incredible.

I wasn't for sure if I was right about this. I just went with my instincts and was HOPING that I was right about this and took a big chance. This man's husband is incredible and I wish I would have been able to meet him when he was with us physically.

I feel so blessed right now to have made my friend's night/day. I told him if he ever felt like he needed to talk to his husband again to go ahead and call me and we could see if his husband would talk with him again. I told him I could never promise BUT I do know that his husband isn't going to be one that leaves me alone. :) I think he will be around awhile and I'm very blessed to be able to help him communicate. It's truly amazing.

I am blessed.

just one of them days

I know it's been FOREVER since I have written in my blog. I should really keep up with it but every time I promise myself I will, then something happens and my promise is broken and I just hate broken promises!

I have been with Red Lake Rosie's Rescue now for about 5months now. It's incredible how the time flies! I was very busy from mid July till now. Puppies, applications, puppies, phone calls, puppies, my own family, puppies, my work(2jobs), puppies. Did I mention puppies? PHEW, are they hard work and I have had two litters! It's all worth it but sometimes you just can't take it anymore.

My honey FINALLY got the insulin pump thanks to my lovely parents. They aren't just lovely because they let us have the money for the insulin pump but this adds to their loveliness. ;) He's been wearing it since Aug. 6th and although right now it's a pain in the arse because we can't figure it out I think in the long run it will be well worth every penny! He says when it's spot on he feels so wonderful! He does act like he feels better too and that's what we want. We are looking into the continous glucose monitor now and am anxiously awaiting. If the insurance approves it then it means NO MORE finger sticks seven times a day! His fingers are quite sore. I told him he could use his arms and wrists but he says he doesn't want to look like a junky. He's so funny!

My eldest daughter is going off to college on Monday, the 24th of August, and I love that thought but if her car keeps breaking down it will never happen! We have fixed it and fixed it and fixed it and it keeps breaking. We are getting really aggreviated and that story is a story in itself! If you know of anyone who wants to give away a car that will run and won't break down every other day send them my way! I can't afford to pay them but I sure as heck don't care about charity/pride right now!

It just sucks because my honey makes such good money but with only one care and five people still living here we just can't seem to get ahead. I'm almost ready to just give up. ;(

Cool thing was that I was able to get a "reading" of one of my closest friends over the phone. She asked me what I could do over the phone and I just started talking. She was just totally amazed and still is talking about it. She says she feels I was given this gift to help people. She says she knows I'm "real" because things I was telling her I wouldn't be able to know and she thinks it's fascinating. She says I'm also so humble about it that she knows it's all real. I don't try to pretend with this.

I have someone else who wants to take me to 2 different places to "read" but we just haven't connected yet. We will though, soon!

Right now I feel drained. I feel cheated. I feel used and abused and I just want to crawl in a hole and go away. I'm trying to figure out what God is trying to prove by the car situation besides the fact that we need a new one! I GET that, if he would hand me some money MAYBE I would go and hand some cash to a car dealer and drive away! Yet I haven't seen that happen yet! So, what's his freaking point? Any clues?

So, that's me in a nutshell. Same old story just a different day, week, month!

Sometimes it's hard NOT to cry

This is my BABY girl, Alyssa, on her way to a fun day! The sun was shining and she looked stunning. I'm proud of her because she decided to go stag and had a fun time! We were praying NO rain till after 5pm and He answered our prayers. :)

This is my eldest daughter, Lea, with her stunningly beautiful flowers!
This is the happy couple in Rogers...Lea and Dj. Don't they look cute? Her in his tie? What was she thinking?

Last but not least, sisterly love. :)
Now you see why it's hard NOT to cry when I have been blessed with such beautiful daughters!

The signs of Spring

When you live in Minnesota you really get tired of the beautiful white snow! There is just too much of it most years. It also means LOTS of cold days and they are not fun either. Although I much rather be cold any day than hot because no matter if you strip down naked you can't get COOL enough on a nice hot day. :)

So, it's starting to act like spring outside here in Minnesota. I say acts like because Minnesota weather can sure fool ya. Nice 50 degree weather one day and the next you are sub zero again. OK, so that's a little extreme but sometimes it feels that way.

Today I had to go to work and I had/have a HUGE migraine. I can't tell you how many pills I have taken to try and get rid of the nasty thing and it makes me even madder because I missed a GORGEOUS day! Yet while I was out for my one hour today I saw signs of spring and they actually brought a smile to my aching face and head!

You don't see alot of people out and about in the winter time and when you do you see mostly their eyeballs behind a scarf or you see the backside of them because they are running to get somewhere warm!

When it's spring though people come out to play. I think they call it cabin fever. Even though I hate people I do love to people watch. It's quite amazing.

I saw many people out today enjoying this day I couldn't. People exercising like riding a bike, jogging, walking, etc. I saw a man with his son looking thru the dirt trying to find rocks! It was so cute! I saw an elderly woman walking and really enjoying it.

Spring brings happiness and new beginnings. My hubby and I have now a new beginning also. I believe even though my spring started with a migraine it will soon bloom into something beautiful. I have new hope and new beginnings.

I LOVE spring and the signs that come with it to let me know it's right around the corner.

YES, of course I can

I'm one of those people who say YES way too quickly. I hardly ever say no, unless it to the children and then I have no problem saying no...hmmm...nope, I think that is incorrect. I say no and then I feel guilty about saying no.

Whenever anyone asks me something I always say yes and then mark it down on the calendar. I don't care if I'm overbooked I just tell them that I will make it happen. I don't know how I make it happen but it usually all works out.

Yet, when it comes time to do things, I wish I had said NO. Don't get me wrong. I love my friends and my family but I just feel I say YES way too often.

If I ever tell my friends no I feel HORRIBLE afterwards and try to think of a way to say YES. I feel guilty. I honestly don't think my friends mind if I say no and I don't think they would ever really get mad at me if I did say no but just the fact I have to say it kills me! My friends never have to guilt me because I do enough of that on my own!

I don't know why I had to post about that but I just felt the urge. I guess I couldn't even tell myself NO!

Things happen in 3

I find this so true. I always tell people, "Well, that was number 2, I'm just waiting for 3 to happen." People just usually dismiss me and say that it's a bunch of hogwash but I truly believe this. Maybe if I didn't believe this so much it wouldn't happen? I don't think so though! So, my question is does good things happen in threes also or is it just the bad things?

1) My cat gets plugged and it costs almost $500.00.
2) My daughter wakes my husband and me up at 7am to tell us our car is smoking, antifreeze is running everywhere, the battery is dead, and the steering doesn't work! That cost us $400.00
3) Came home to our renter's room flooded. This usually happens if the main drain gets clogged and someone does a large load of clothes. NOPE, this time it came in from the OUTSIDE. Yep, the mudroom had an inch thick of water in it and it leaked into his room. UGH.

Ok, so these things could be fixed and have been fixed but why does it always happen in threes?
